Delphi, Thermopylae, Arachova
If you are looking for a nearby destination of archaeological and historical interest, then the proposal of Delphi is ideal. The area of Delphi, known for their famous oracle, was in antiquity a very popular destination because of the provisions of the oracle reading from the priestess Pythia. Beyond its historical interest the area will reward us by its natural beauty. Before we get to the "navel of the earth” we will stand in another turning point at Thermopylae, known from the battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC.
The name of the area was based on some nearby sources of hot water and the narrow and rough passages whose gates someone could approach with difficulty. Finally, the route will be completed by our visit to the coastal Itea or the traditional village of Arachova, according to the destination of your choice. There, we will have the opportunity to taste the local gastronomy and the fine wines as well.
